Terms of Use

1. Agreement and eligibility

These Terms govern your use of MoneyCap ("MoneyCap", "the app"), a personal expense diary for Android and iOS provided by Tripleace ("we", "us"; app ID: com.tripleace.moneycontrol). By using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, stop using and uninstall it.

If you download MoneyCap from the Apple App Store, Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies; if these Terms conflict with it, these Terms apply to the extent permitted. You must have legal capacity to accept these Terms. Minors should use the app with a parent or guardian’s permission. MoneyCap is not directed to children.

2. Features and limits

MoneyCap lets you record spending with photos of receipts and moments, read amounts, merchants and dates from receipts, organise expenses by category, convert between currencies, view summaries and recaps, and receive an optional evening reminder.

Receipt reading and categorisation are automated suggestions and can be wrong or incomplete; results depend on photo quality, receipt layout, language and your device. Exchange rates come from a third-party source, are updated about once a day, and are indicative only; they may differ from the rate your bank or card applied. Always review amounts before saving.

MoneyCap is a personal record-keeping tool. It is not a bank, payment service, accounting, tax or financial advisory service, and its figures are not official records for tax, reimbursement or legal purposes.

3. Your data and backups

Your diary is stored on your device. We do not operate a cloud backup or sync service and cannot recover lost entries or photos. Uninstalling the app, clearing its data, or losing or resetting your device can permanently delete your diary unless your device backup includes it. You are responsible for keeping any records you need.

You retain your rights in your photos and entries. Use only content you are entitled to capture and store.

4. Free use, ads and MoneyCap Plus

MoneyCap can be used for free with a limited number of photo captures. When free captures run out, you can watch an optional rewarded ad to unlock more, within a daily limit, or subscribe to MoneyCap Plus. Free limits and ad rewards may change.

MoneyCap Plus is an optional auto-renewing subscription offered as a monthly plan (which may include a free trial for eligible users) or a yearly plan. Plus currently includes unlimited captures, monthly recaps, and no ads. The purchase screen and the store checkout show the current benefits, price, billing period and any trial terms before you confirm.

• Billing: payment is charged to your Google Play or Apple ID account when you confirm the purchase, or when a free trial ends.
• Auto-renewal: the subscription renews automatically at the same price for the same period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period (on Google Play, before the renewal date). Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
• Free trial: if you do not cancel before the trial ends, the paid subscription starts automatically. Any unused part of a trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription, where applicable.
• Cancel and manage: in Google Play › Payments & subscriptions, or iPhone Settings › Apple ID › Subscriptions. Uninstalling the app does not cancel a subscription. After cancelling, Plus remains active until the end of the paid period.
• Restore: use “Restore purchase” in the app with the same store account to restore Plus on a new device.
• Refunds: handled by Google or Apple under their refund policies, subject to consumer rights that apply in your country.
• Price changes: prices vary by country, may include applicable taxes, and may change with notice as required by the store and applicable law.

5. License and acceptable use

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use MoneyCap for lawful personal use on devices you own or control. The app, its design, branding and original content belong to Tripleace or its licensors.

Do not use the app unlawfully, interfere with its operation, circumvent free limits, ads or subscription checks, or distribute unauthorised copies. Any reverse-engineering restriction applies only to the extent permitted by applicable law.

6. Privacy and third-party services

Information handling and permission choices are described in the Privacy Policy. MoneyCap uses third-party services including Google ML Kit, Apple Vision, Google Firebase, Google AdMob, Google Play, the Apple App Store and ExchangeRate-API. These providers and any external websites have their own terms and policies, and we are not responsible for their services or content, including advertisements.

7. Availability and changes

We may add, change or remove features, compatibility, free limits and these Terms. Updates will be reflected in the date on this page, with additional notice where required; continued use after an update means you accept the updated Terms. We do not promise uninterrupted availability or support for every device.

You may stop using and uninstall MoneyCap at any time. We may restrict use for misuse or legal reasons, subject to applicable law and your rights to any paid period.

8. Responsibility and applicable rights

To the extent permitted by law, MoneyCap is provided “as is” and “as available”, without a guarantee of error-free operation, accurate receipt reading, categorisation or exchange rates, or recovery of lost data. You are responsible for decisions you make based on information in the app.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for loss of data, arising from use of the app, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for MoneyCap Plus in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded, including mandatory consumer protections in the EU, the UK and elsewhere. Disputes are subject to applicable law and to the mandatory jurisdiction rights available to consumers in their place of residence.
